Hey everyone.
I took my '93 del Sol Si to the track for the second time this past weekend (May 21, 2018). I officially doubled the number of times I went last year!! Long story short.... I blew the motor the first day out last year.
You can see all the details of the modifications to the car as well as other videos and pics here: https://hondaswap.com/threads/open-lapping-track-93-del-sol-si-jdm-gsr-itr-s80-5-speed.530458/
The event was run by the Touge.ca organization again. It was at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park on the Driver Development Track (DDT).
I felt like this time out wasn't as as good as the previous weekend. There were many more participants and therefore many more vehicles. They staggered the groups into "experienced" and "intermediate/novice". Last time I went out I ran with the "advanced" group. The laps were fast but when someone in a much more expensive "fast" car (see Porsche GT3-RS as an example) came up quickly behind me, I would have to wave them past. This is a little annoying when you're trying to get some fast laps in.
This time I decided to try running with the "intermediate/novice" group. What a mistake... more cars meant many more inexperienced drivers and SLOW laps. Some of the participants either didn't understand the "wave past" rule (if you're slower than the car behind you wave them by) or they didn't care. At one point I almost for into an accident because of a couple of terrible drivers. Next time it's only "advanced" group for me.
