coolant flows through the valve fine. i'm pretty sure it's not the thermal valve. i took the IAC off the blew to a hole on the side which did not have the screen. It's pretty tight. then i took my cousins off. i blew onto it and it's smooth. i haven't switched the valve form my cousins car yet...

hey guys, i've been helping my friend with his D16Z. the problem starts when you slam on the gas, it chugs, bogs, and chokes, then it picks up nice slowly. i change the plugs, distributor, and it still does it, but only when you slam on the gas. if you step on the gas slowly, it's picking up...

A lot of pings and pongs. knicks a lot. quiets down when warm. low valve to piston clearance, bad GM. good power output.

milling the head is a risky modification, either remove two gaskets, two is fine, as long as your deck surface is a smooth as a model's butt, or get custom pistons by JE. JE makes great custom piston. i had on JE 12.5:1 piston, but putting the B16A2 head will lower it, so i removed 2 gaskets...

i think you ground one wire. not so sure.
