Import Builders "Super Duper" pistons, 86mm

What I'm basically trying to do here is compare the Import Builders "Super Duper" pistons to my Endyn Rollerwave strutted high pin pistons. (mounted on rod)

I'm mainly comparing the skirt length and basic design of the pistons. The compression height of the IB pistons is 1.044in, while the Rollerwaves are 1.043in. The IB has a longer skirt and more material under the oil control ring. This should give more stability in the bore during high revving.

The IB spec piston also has a slightly beefier strut design- there's more material supporting the wrist pin. Both pistons move the wrist pin up compared to stock, which allows a longer rod (about 3.48mm longer) to be used.

The sharp edges on the IB pistons do NOT come smoothed out like Endyn's Rollerwaves. Sharp edges on the dome of a piston can contribute to detonation.

The last few pictures compare the IB Super Duper to a stock P73 Integra Type-R piston. Note the distance between the bottom of the skirt and the pin mount location, then compare to the picture showing the skirt length of the Rollerwave vs IB.

That's all I have for now- you can draw more of your own conclusions... or just buy a set or three for yourself and figure things out.
